Hockey Helps the Homeless

43561632_10155877433536149_5248003711300534272_nOn October 26th, the 5th annual Hockey Helps the Homeless—KW fundraiser was held at RIM Park. Sixteen teams, each led by a former NHL-er, played multiple games throughout the day. Waterloo Wolves’ trainer Greg Henning provided his services for the day, making sure players were healthy & safe.

The one day event raised an amazing $225,000 ($15,000 more than last year!). The Piller’s Waterloo Wolves Alumni Team came 2nd in the Team Challenge, raising $13,905. The $225,000 will be shared between five local charities who support the homeless in our community.

Next year the event is looking to break the $1,000,000 given to local charities in just six years of Hockey Helps The Homeless—KW. Congratulations to the organizers, participants, sponsors, donors and volunteers. What an incredible achievement.
